Ben's Marvellous Memories Made Through Acting

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.   Monday 30th of September Today to warm up we began with a game of Mafia Boss, however we had to make our deaths overly dramatic to help prepare us for The Globe.  Afterward, we played a new game called The Human Knot, which helped us work on our communication skills as we got in small groups and put our hands in the middle of our small circle and grabbed 2 random peoples hands, before then having to untangle ourselves and reform a circle.  Once we had warmed up, we were spoken to by Kelly who said she was interested in the idea of adding mystery elements into The Globe, which she wanted to see us practice by giving us an extract from Clue 2, where we then went to practice in our groups.  The extract showed the group stumbling upon a dead body, which falls and pins down Mr Green (who I was playing), leading them to all pin the blame on each other.  Each group performed their take on the scene, as there was a lot of parts in the scene that could be left to inter...

Monday 23rd of September Today we focused on preparation for The Globe.  We began by working on moving as a large group without communicating with each other to add to the horror element of the performance.  We started this exercise by each standing in a random place around the room, then began to move at the same time as each other.  Once we had mastered doing that, we moved to running at the same time and stopping as each other, which was more difficult as we had to go from a quick speed to completely still.  After this, we began rehearsing our audition pieces for the globe and the tour guides were given a short script that we ha to learn for our audition, so Kelly could see the chemistry of the tour guides and how we portrayed them, as they were a completely blank character and was up to us on how we wanted to play them.  Me and Delroy ran through the scene a few times to get an idea of the lines and how to deliver them before the end of the day.
