Week commencing 14th of October

 Monday 14th of October

This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close.

Tuesday 15th of October

Once again we mainly spent most of today focussed on Ghostlight, where we managed to read through the rest of the script while everyone else was putting together the final scene with Carrie.  The idea for the final scene was for Carrie to walk on to the stage after having the blood poured on her, and everyone the audience had met pointing and laughing at her.  We would all then surround the audience slowly, eerily humming a children's tune, where the Theatre Reviewer will gather the audience and quickly guide them out the theatre.

Wednesday 16th of October

Today we were told we were doing a showcase with Musical Theatre, to show each other what we've been doing this term.  We decided we'd show them our choreography for the dance Toys which from Pinnochio that we have been rehearsing.  For the first hour of the day we spent our time refining it so it looked the best it could be to show it off.  After the showcase, which went very well, we went to see Heathers at The Globe as any chance to watch theatre is very helpful.

Thursday 17th of October

This morning we did our monologues with Tom, with me performing my contemporary monologue from 217 Underground read by a character called Neil, explaining how his family died.  This was the monologue I used for my audition for OFOTCN so I already had a good understanding of his character.  After this, we went into Kellys lesson where we focused on doing a run-through of Ghost Light, where we led a small audience around the dance studio, going from scene to scene.  This was a good rehearsal as it proved to me I was already off script, only making a few slip ups, which I have time to improve on.
