My Third Week At SRC

 Monday 25th of September

On the first day of the week, we did a game with a partner where we had to describe something in gibberish. This was done to help us improve our skills of physicality as we couldn't rely on our speech to properly describe what we were doing.  After this we got into teams and had to perform a short improvisation of "the worlds worst holiday", however the catch was we had to plan it all in gibberish which made it difficult for everyone on the same team to get on the same page.  Whilst performing the piece, members of the audience could shout out "English",  meaning we had to seamlessly swap between the two languages.  Kelly made us do this as it made us better at showing the audience what was going instead of telling them.  After this, we all got into partners and practiced doing a duologue in front of an audience which we would go on to perform on Wednesday.

Today we were working with Tom on improving our singing. To help practice for Peter Pan we further continued working on Freak Flag and blocked 3/4 of the song.  I played one of the 3 pigs as I did not want to go for one of the main singers.  After performing Freak Flag, we practiced most of the songs from Peter Pan to prepare us for auditions and the ensemble songs.  After singing the songs, it made which roles I wanted to audition for more clear as I knew which songs I did and didn't want to sing.

Wednesday 27th of September

Today I performed my duologue with Will about 2 friends searching for a 4 leaf clover.  The duologue was a comedy and called "Luck".  As I was working with Will, the piece being a comedy was in our favour as we bounced off each other quite well which helped the joke at the end of the piece be funnier.  We all performed a duologue so Kelly could see how well we worked with other people and how quickly we learnt lines.

Thursday 28th of September

Today we did a tour of The Globe so we could get a feel of the venue before we performed there.  We were told facts about it and shown which rooms we can perform scenes inside of.  We came up with the idea of doing a huge execution on the stage as the main attraction.  As well as this we may hide a dummy in the projection room that could be looking out onto the stage that you will only notice if you look up.  As we were shown round the Globe, we were told it was built in 1935 and it actually went underground, which we could link in to the children in the coal mines.
