My Performance Journey - Production Diaries.
Monday 11th of September.
This was my first full day at college with both years in the theatre. Since it was only our first day we only did a few small activities one of which was a word association game. We did this as it helped us think quickly under intense situations, which we will need for our performance in The Globe. After this we did a whole group freeze frame of a pirate ship to test our ability to stay in character. As well as this we all got into groups and wrote down our rules and expectations of the course. Finally, at the end of the day we all wrote down our skills that could come in handy for our different shows.

On my second day we were all in the dance studio where we met Tom the singing teacher for the first time. He taught us how to best use our voice and how not to strain it when singing. During this we did vocal exercises to warm up our voices before we got to the end of the day. After some warm ups we started our first song from the Peter Pan Musical, "We're going home".

On the 3rd day of college we began thinking about The Globe performance. To help us with ideas we split up into different groups and were each given a different way someone throughout history died and then we had to make another way someone died in order to fool the other groups. After that we then had to act out one of the ways someone had died.

On the last day of the week we further tested our acting skills by getting into 2 groups and doing a game of worlds worst _______. The aim of the game was to test your acting skills by seeing how badly you can play a character instead of how well you can. After that, we all went around in a circle explaining to everyone each of out biggest fears which helped me get to know everyone better.

We began the week once again in the theatre where we started by brainstorming more ideas for The Globe and the different scenes we could make with the gruesome parts of history. After that we acted out a scene of doing tug of war which tested our ability to stay in character even if we wanted to win and reacting to other people, such as lurching forward when the other team pulled back.
Tuesday 19th September
On Tuesday we worked on our characterization by doing a dance number to "Freak Flag" from Shrek The Musical. We did this as even though my character may not have sung, I still want them to stick out to the audience. Aswell as this, we also learnt not to block other people on stage when they are meant to be the focus.
Wednesday 20th September
On Wednesday we further developed our ideas for The Globe and how we are going to make it different for the children and the adults. Then we split into different groups and did a murder mystery where i was detective and had to interrogate everyone in my group then try to guess who did it. After I had made my guess, they showed me how the victim was really murdered and who killed them.
Thursday 21st of September
Lastly, we once again continued with ideas for The Globe and began to block out some of our ideas. We came up with a scene that involves our groups character Mary Ann Cotton.
