Week Commencing 25th of November

 Monday 25th of November

Today I mainly focused on working on my production role of set design, however first we once again practiced the pleasure island scene through the 3 different casts, although this doesn't affect me as I remain the same Roustabout each cast.  After this I helped the other set designers move out the boxes we used for Shout out of the college garage, into the BlackBox room, where we began to paint them plain white, so we could repaint them brown for in Geppetto's Toy Shop.  We also began to brainstorm ideas for Pleasure Island, coming up with the idea of having a large banner at the back of the stage labelled PLEASURE ISLAND.


Tuesday 26th of November

Today we finally filmed the Dear Evan Hansen scene with Layla, but beforehand we did a few warm ups to get ready for it as this is really important since it goes on our film reel.  Once we had gotten warmed up, we were allowed to go away in our pairs to rehearse the scene and make some last minute changes since me and Layla would be the 6th group.  We were very confident for the scene as we believed we captured the right emotions of the characters in the scene.  After this, I had my audition for the feature film, where I auditioned for both Theo and Joe.  I practiced my audition with Hope as she was the partner I was auditioning with and I felt quite confident going into this audition as we were both off script and had good chemistry.  During the audition we were asked a few questions before moving onto the extract which we performed better than we had even practiced.  Once we finished I stayed back to do my audition for Theo where a member of the film crew read in for the other characters in the scene.


Wednesday and Thursday 27th and 28th of November

These days we focussed on doing a run through of the first act and because of this I would only be my role of a town father with Noah and JJ or Kieran and Alfie.  While not onstage I worked on learning my lines for all my roles aswell as my Italian accent.  I also sorted out my costume for each role, a suit for my town father and perfect child, and a hat and jacket that mimics Bungrazzos for Junior.

Week commencing 14th of October

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Globe Show Week and Evaluation

  Monday 21st of October Today was our first day at The Globe, one day before our first show.  To begin with, we warmed up by playing a few games like Splat so we were energised.  Since the first Tuesday show was the other cast, I was going to be an Aide in the One Flew Over segment of the tour, as the more people occupying the area in that scene, the more realistic it would be.  However, because my show is on the Wednesday, I still need to keep on top of my lines for The Sceptic so this morning Me, Connor and Adam focused on running through our lines together so we knew we had them fully learnt, since now we were in the venue some parts of the tour had been swapped around.  After lunch, me and the other people in the OFO section went through what we would be doing during Nurse Ratchet's section, like all turning to look at the audience at the same time during parts of her speech.   Tuesday 22nd of October This was the day of the first show so we immed...

Week Commencing 7th of October

Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.
