Week Commencing 18th of November

 Monday 18th of November

This morning we were given the chance to practice scenes and parts of the show we were struggling with, however I was quite confident with the scenes I was in and had gone through so instead I helped Jack who is one of the ringleaders as this afternoon we were going to be doing Pleasure Island and Jack wanted help learning the song so he was ready for this afternoon.  Moving onto the afternoon, we began working on Pleasure Island, which is basically a massive fairground ruled by naughty kids, who are eventually turned into donkeys.  To encapsulate this, we got into small groups where we tried to make rollercoasters by only using our movement, with my group deciding to try and make a boat ride that swings back and forth and other groups doing rides like teacups and droppers.


Tuesday 19th of November

Today was meant to be the day mine and Layla's duologue got recorded, however the film crew ran out of time, meaning ours got pushed back to next Tuesday so we mainly spent today running it over and over so we were fully happy with it for next Tuesday.  


Wednesday 20th of November

The first thing we did was a few runs of Toys, before having the makeup students come in so we could brainstorm ideas for each character.  I grouped with the other Juniors and Bungrazzos where they explained their idea of Bungrazzo having a stereotypical Italian moustache, and Junior, who wants to replicate his creator, has a badly drawn on moustache.


Thursday 21st of November

Today we did another run through however only reached up to "I've got no strings", before we moved onto polishing Satisfaction Guaranteed".

Week commencing 14th of October

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Globe Show Week and Evaluation

  Monday 21st of October Today was our first day at The Globe, one day before our first show.  To begin with, we warmed up by playing a few games like Splat so we were energised.  Since the first Tuesday show was the other cast, I was going to be an Aide in the One Flew Over segment of the tour, as the more people occupying the area in that scene, the more realistic it would be.  However, because my show is on the Wednesday, I still need to keep on top of my lines for The Sceptic so this morning Me, Connor and Adam focused on running through our lines together so we knew we had them fully learnt, since now we were in the venue some parts of the tour had been swapped around.  After lunch, me and the other people in the OFO section went through what we would be doing during Nurse Ratchet's section, like all turning to look at the audience at the same time during parts of her speech.   Tuesday 22nd of October This was the day of the first show so we immed...

Week Commencing 7th of October

Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.
