Week Commencing 11th of November

 Monday 11th of November

We have just recently been given the cast list for Pinocchio and I got the roles of Junior, a Town Father and Parent.  I am most looking forward to be the role of Junior as he is quite an interesting character, a perfect clone of the mad inventor Bungrazzo, which would also be a challenge as I have to perfectly mimic Bungrazzo's mannerisms.  This morning we got into 3 groups, with each group having a Geppetto and Pinnochio, and we each group did their take on how the school fight scene should go, with some groups having the children be well behaved before the fight begins and others having the children already be naughty.  Aswell as this, today I also chose my production role, Set design.

This morning with our free time, I decided to start working on my production role by drafting up ideas for the set of Geppetto's toy shop, such as having a model train moving around on a small track around the stage.  After this, we went to the Dance Studio where we did our final session on our Dear Evan Hansen duologues so we just spent our time polishing it off and making sure it was perfect for being filmed.

Today we finished blocking Toys with each cast as because of the cast list we knew who would sing each solo in the song.  Due to the fact their was 3 casts, I had a different family in each casts as most times people in my family had a larger role in the other casts, whereas I remained a father in all 3 as in two other casts I would be a town father.  With each family I made sure to change our choreography slightly so it wasn't always the same during the slow-mo.

Thursday 14th of November

Today we focussed on Bungrazzo's song "Satisfaction Guaranteed" getting it choreographed with the perfect children and different casts.  In this song were going to have a large machine that Junior pulls onto the stage earlier in the scene that Junior would interact with to make the children during the song.  While Bungrazzo is singing to Geppetto, the children are dancing behind him, perfectly timed with each other and in beat.  During my time as Junior, I made sure to try and be as similar as I could Delroy who is my Bungrazzo, by copying his hand movements and gestures, while still keeping track of when I had to move the machine.
