Week Commencing 4th of March

 Monday 4th of March

Today we reworked the beginning of Shout as we didn't think it was captivating enough for the audience.  Instead, we made everyone around Dana slow motion, with everyone already starting the performance on stage, so Dana sticks out more whilst everyone is moving much slower. Once we went through the beginning a couple of times, we ran through the last 2 Freaks and Geeks scenes, where they do yoga together.  Me and Will came up with a few gags to happen in the background of the room whilst the main dialogue was being spoken.  After this began the auditions for Hunt where I auditioned as Fra with Will as Eugene, using the scene where Fra gets annoyed at Eugene and throws himself at him.


Tuesday 5th of March

Today we had Tom as our teacher where he explained about the world of casting and how the business worked.  He showed us an app called Spotlight that helped get your name out there for directors looking for actors.  As well as this he explained the importance of a good CV due to the fact if it is high quality with many great features, you'll be more appealing for directors.


Wednesday 6th of March

Today the 2 cast lists for Hunt was released, and I got the role of James, a teenager who is new to the friend group and has no knowledge of the game that they want to play.  We then went through the scene with the careers advisor and changed it to where once we slam the books down on the desk in front Dana, we stand behind her and slowly sway sideways like a wave.  This way it relates to Dana's speech about feeling like she is out at sea and no one can see her.

Week commencing 14th of October

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Globe Show Week and Evaluation

  Monday 21st of October Today was our first day at The Globe, one day before our first show.  To begin with, we warmed up by playing a few games like Splat so we were energised.  Since the first Tuesday show was the other cast, I was going to be an Aide in the One Flew Over segment of the tour, as the more people occupying the area in that scene, the more realistic it would be.  However, because my show is on the Wednesday, I still need to keep on top of my lines for The Sceptic so this morning Me, Connor and Adam focused on running through our lines together so we knew we had them fully learnt, since now we were in the venue some parts of the tour had been swapped around.  After lunch, me and the other people in the OFO section went through what we would be doing during Nurse Ratchet's section, like all turning to look at the audience at the same time during parts of her speech.   Tuesday 22nd of October This was the day of the first show so we immed...

Week Commencing 7th of October

Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.
