Week commencing 26th of February

 Monday 26th of February

Today we started with a few warm ups of Splat and What are you doing so we could calm down and loose some energy.  After these warm ups, we got into our friend groups in our connections piece Shout.  We discussed in our groups how we met each other and how we got the names of Freaks and Geeks.  We then made a short scene of how they all met each other over time by going in to the calming room after feeling stressed or getting bullied and once they were all there, they collectively agreed to call themselves the Freaks and Geeks.  Before the end of the day, we went to The Green Screen room to do a read through of Hunt.


Tuesday 27th of February

Today we started with a new version of the game Wink Murder, similar to how it normally works, however, everyone is walking around with an unknown killer amongst them who when they wink at you, you must die.  If you suspect someone, you go up to the sheriff and ask if your suspicion is correct.  Once we played a few games of that, we played a game of ninja before moving onto doing practical work with Tom.  We looked at different monologues that we could use for auditions and got into groups of people who liked the same monologues as each other.  We read them out loud to ourselves so we could feel like the character and performed them in our small groups.  


Wednesday 28th of February

Today we began by doing Wah as a warm up before we moved on for the day.  To start we worked on polishing the first Freaks and Geeks scene when Dana meets them all for the first time.  I am sat in the corner at a table with Will playing cards, yet still reacting to the dialogue being spoken.  When Mo talks about taking the drugs, we all stand up and begin doing yoga and listing the drugs we take, mine being Celexa.  Once we each list our drugs, we form a semi-circle and run across it whilst doing a short dance.  After we perfected the scene, we went through the assembly scene where we all sing Amazing Grace until we all leave, leaving Dana to sing for herself.  Then once we finished those scenes, me and the people who chose to read Hunt went to do another read through of the script.


Thursday 29th of February

Today we told Callum who we were going to be auditioning for in Hunt and if we would like to audition with anyone.  I chose to audition as Fra using the scene where Fra and Eugene get in a fight, with Will playing Eugene.  We went of into another room where we practiced the scene ready for our auditions.

Week commencing 14th of October

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Globe Show Week and Evaluation

  Monday 21st of October Today was our first day at The Globe, one day before our first show.  To begin with, we warmed up by playing a few games like Splat so we were energised.  Since the first Tuesday show was the other cast, I was going to be an Aide in the One Flew Over segment of the tour, as the more people occupying the area in that scene, the more realistic it would be.  However, because my show is on the Wednesday, I still need to keep on top of my lines for The Sceptic so this morning Me, Connor and Adam focused on running through our lines together so we knew we had them fully learnt, since now we were in the venue some parts of the tour had been swapped around.  After lunch, me and the other people in the OFO section went through what we would be doing during Nurse Ratchet's section, like all turning to look at the audience at the same time during parts of her speech.   Tuesday 22nd of October This was the day of the first show so we immed...

Week Commencing 7th of October

Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.
