Week Commencing 11th of March

 Monday 11th of March

Today we got through the first three quarters of Shout whilst making adjustments to certain scenes.  One of the scenes we changed was the scene where Dana begins singing with Tristan after Viv is convincing people to go on a Climate rally with him.  We changed the scene so Tristan and Dana are sat at the front of the stage, while a few students are gathered round Viv, discussing the environment, holding large signs to get more attention.  When the song began playing we begin marching in a circle while raising our signs up and down.  Once we went through Shout, we began blocking the first two scenes of Hunt, the first scene being Eugene's introduction and the second scene having all the friends meet up at the electrical box.


Tuesday 12th of March

Today we had a lesson with Tom where people presented their practitioner PowerPoint's that they had been working on.  Each group had 15 minutes to teach us about a practitioner they had researched and gave us a small practical to do using techniques used by their practitioner.  Since we also had Tom during the afternoon he helped us choreograph and change the careers adviser scene to make it more overwhelming for Dana.  During the Career Advisor scene, Dana would stand on the desk and the ensemble would surround her with the books and hold them to her throat as she explains how the words get trapped in her throat.  After we rehearsed this, we moved onto the library scene, where everyone in the library had a book covering their face, pulling it down to show their face and shush Tristan whenever he made noise.


Wednesday and Thursday the 13th and 14th of March

Over these 2 days we went through Shout as next week is the show week!  We mainly focused on the scenes with Dana and Tristan especially the singing scene.  During this scene, we improved on the climate march going on in the background of the scene, although we didn't make it too big as it would have taken away the attention from Dana and Tristan.  Once Dana starts singing, we all react to her and look at her, however when she looks around we quickly look away and continue marching, letting Dana run through us, yet blocking Tristan from chasing after her.

Week commencing 14th of October

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Globe Show Week and Evaluation

  Monday 21st of October Today was our first day at The Globe, one day before our first show.  To begin with, we warmed up by playing a few games like Splat so we were energised.  Since the first Tuesday show was the other cast, I was going to be an Aide in the One Flew Over segment of the tour, as the more people occupying the area in that scene, the more realistic it would be.  However, because my show is on the Wednesday, I still need to keep on top of my lines for The Sceptic so this morning Me, Connor and Adam focused on running through our lines together so we knew we had them fully learnt, since now we were in the venue some parts of the tour had been swapped around.  After lunch, me and the other people in the OFO section went through what we would be doing during Nurse Ratchet's section, like all turning to look at the audience at the same time during parts of her speech.   Tuesday 22nd of October This was the day of the first show so we immed...

Week Commencing 7th of October

Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.
