Week Commencing 29th of January

 Monday 29th of January

Today we did a new game where we were assigned a number and when our number got shouted we had to say someone else's number, however if you hesitated you were out.  We played this game because it improved concentration as you had to remember what numbers were still in he circle as well as your own or you'd lose.  We also made ourselves sock puppets to make the snake scene with the therapist more comedic so once we made the sock puppets we split into 2 groups to do our own interpretation of the snake scene.  During this though we also did auditions for Sophia and Elliott's production of Stuff, where I auditioned for Matt, with a scene with AJ, who he has a crush on.

Tuesday 30th of  January

Today we did connections and mainly focused on the scene where Dana is being asked how she will be interviewed for Oxford.  For this scene we had all the other characters meet up in the background and silently discuss universities with each other while Dana is talking to the career advisor. Once the career advisor leaves, Dana steps onto the chair as the ensemble form a circle around her, passing the books to each other, getting faster and faster until the circle is dissolved and everyone has walked off.  After our lesson, I went to star as an extra in the film Oblivious that some of the year 1 film students were doing.

Wednesday 31st of January

Today we showed the level 2 acting students what it is like on the course by introducing them and doing some games to help break the ice.  After this we got into groups of 5 and made scenes where we were given a line to begin with and a line to end with, so we had to come up with a scene that made sense with the context of the 2 lines.  Once we had done our scenes and the level twos went back to their class, we did a whole improvised scene as our characters from connections in a yoga class, where the therapist was a substitute for the normal yoga teacher.  This helped us get in our mind of our character as during the scene had to think about how to react to certain information.

Thursday 1st of February

Today we once again worked on ensemble scenes, however we mainly worked on the first scene.  I set up an interaction with George where I would have my bag stolen off of me and pushed into the mean girls, for them to laugh at me because I was wearing a sock puppet on my hand. During this, I would be pulled away by Alan (a teacher) to ask if I was okay and take me offstage to comfort me and get me away from the bullies.
