Peter Pan show week!
Monday and Tuesday the 11th and 12th of December
Since it was our final day before the show we were all on our best behaviour and it was also our first time in The Arc in 20 years so we wanted to make a good impression. For these days we focused on doing a full dress and tech run through of cast one so we were fully prepared for tomorrow. I came in wearing my dark green shorts and top with my fuzzy brown leg warmers and furry gloves as my lost boy costume. We successfully did a full run through of cast one with lighting and microphones as we needed to make sure that they worked for the show.
Wednesday 13th of December
Today was our very first time performing Peter Pan in front of a paying audience! However, for the very first show, we did a relaxed performance in front of an audience with special needs. Because of this, some of the main cast were set out in the stalls and audience before the show began to get the audience more relaxed and not as scared as the pirates. George also did a speech before the show explaining how no-one was actually harmed during the play and that the crocodile (although frighteningly realistic) was fake. As well as this, it also meant that we hadn't got our makeup done, so the pirates didn't have any massive scars. The show went really well and the audience loved every second, especially do you believe in fairies, as some of the audience even stood up and sang along. After everyone had left, we had 6 hours before the next show, so we did a run of cast three's show to get them prepared for tomorrow. While doing this, some people were pulled out to get their makeup done as from now on we were having a normal audience. We managed to get through cast three even though we had some people missing in segments for their makeup. Thankfully during the night performance everything went well as everyone knew their cues and lines so everything went smoothly.
Thursday 14th of December
Today was our second show day of three. Since it was cast three I remained as an ensemble lost boy, so stuck with my current costumes. As for today's show it went way better than we could've hoped as everyone was on their A game and knew what they were doing since we had practiced just the day before. During both shows I did my best during all the songs and bouncing off all the other lost boys.
Friday 15th of December
Today was our final show day of Peter Pan. Today since it was cast two I was Nibs The Lost Boy and was excited to perform as a speaking role for the final day of the show, I even slightly changed my outfit. During the shows everything went smoothly as I knew my cues for all my lines and all the songs went perfectly. Overall I would say we went out with a bang as all the shows went amazing!
