Week commencing 20th of November

 Monday 20th of November

Today we went through some of the ensemble scenes where the lost boys are all together such as shooting Wendy or when they were captured by the pirates.  We mainly focused on the scene where Wendy is reading them all a story and Peter comes into the house with The Brave Girls.  Since all The Lost Boys were under the age of 10, we all made them as childish as possible, like pulling faces when Wendy tells the to go to sleep or getting really giddy when Peter (who they believe to be their father) walks into the house.  After this we let Wendy and Peter practice their song 'Why' before we practiced The Brave Girls getting captured by The Pirates whilst The Lost Boys hide.


Tuesday 21th of November

Today we focused on what costumes each of the ensemble cast could wear (Lost Boys, Pirates and Brave Girls).  For The Lost Boys we decided to use old and tattered clothes that don't pair with each other.  I also decided to get long furry leg warmers that looked like animal fur and got a plain green shirt from the thrift shop as it fit with the colour scheme of forests.  Aswell as this we also found an outfit for Hook, using a red hat with a with a white feather coming out the top and a large red and white jacket that mirrored his iconic outfit from the film.


Wednesday 22nd of November

Today we got into different teams to help Kelly with producing Peter Pan and keep things organised.  I got into the props team which meant I had to see which props were needed in each scene and who was bringing in what props, such as which weapons The Lost Boys were using to fight The Pirates in the final fight.  The props team also made sure which props would be shared between main characters like how the main 6 Lost Boys would use a sword in the fight but would be shared with the other casts.


Thursday 23rd of November

Today since a few more people had wooden swords, we worked on the fight on the pirate ship between The Lost Boys and The Pirates.  Because the fight was on such a large scale, we had to use the whole of the dance studio to choreograph it all.  Every Lost Boy got allocated a pirate to fight and chose a makeshift weapon to use during the fight.  Whilst The Lost Boys fight the Pirates, Hook and Peter had their one 30 second fight in front of the Pirates and Lost Boys.  Once all the Pirates were taken care of, The Lost Boys form a circle around Hook and Peter so they can continue their fight, where Peter would ultimately get the best of Hook and kick him overboard.

Week commencing 14th of October

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Globe Show Week and Evaluation

  Monday 21st of October Today was our first day at The Globe, one day before our first show.  To begin with, we warmed up by playing a few games like Splat so we were energised.  Since the first Tuesday show was the other cast, I was going to be an Aide in the One Flew Over segment of the tour, as the more people occupying the area in that scene, the more realistic it would be.  However, because my show is on the Wednesday, I still need to keep on top of my lines for The Sceptic so this morning Me, Connor and Adam focused on running through our lines together so we knew we had them fully learnt, since now we were in the venue some parts of the tour had been swapped around.  After lunch, me and the other people in the OFO section went through what we would be doing during Nurse Ratchet's section, like all turning to look at the audience at the same time during parts of her speech.   Tuesday 22nd of October This was the day of the first show so we immed...

Week Commencing 7th of October

Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.
