Week Commencing 13th of November
Monday 13th of November
Today was the day we found out which role we got in Peter Pan, however before we did, we played some games of splat to calm us down as everyone was excited to find out which characters they would be. During the games, Kelly would take out different people and tell them their roles so people would still be unsure who they would be as she called people in in no particular order. When Kelly called me over she told me how she thought I worked well in groups and I was good as a Lost Boy in the scene I did on Thursday, because of this, she decided to give me the role of Nibs, The Lost Boy.
Tuesday 14th of November
Since we had Tom today, we sung through the whole script with each character singing in for their part so we could all learn which songs were for which character and how well the duet singers work with each other. I learnt my solo lines in "We're Going Home" however was still trying to fully learn the lines in both of The Lost Boys songs. Tom also rewrote the song The Brave Girls would sing so it would be less culturally insensitive and described who The Brave Girls were so the audience knew them.
Wednesday 15th of November
For today we started to work on the basics for the fight scene on the boat between Hook and Peter, whilst The Lost Boys fend off the pirates. We choreographed some basic fighting techniques for Hook and Peter to be using, where as the fights in the background would just be basic attacking and parrying. Since The Lost Boys took the pirates by surprise, we had The Lost Boys being the ones to attack the pirates and the pirates would just be defending themselves until they got pushed to the back of the ship and thrown overboard. Afterward, we quickly ran through Wendy's Song in the group of Lost Boys and managed to get the first half of the song choreographed where The Boys build her house.
Thursday 16th of November
On the last day of the week, we firstly polished Wendy's Song and let all three casts of The Lost Boys run through it so each cast knew what they were doing for that song even as an extra. Then we did some basic blocking for the scene where Wendy is shot by The Lost Boys by mistake. Since Nibs does not have many lines in the scene I was able to quickly learn them all and completely focus on my characterisation.
