Week commencing 20th of November

Monday 20th of November Today we went through some of the ensemble scenes where the lost boys are all together such as shooting Wendy or when they were captured by the pirates.  We mainly focused on the scene where Wendy is reading them all a story and Peter comes into the house with The Brave Girls.  Since all The Lost Boys were under the age of 10, we all made them as childish as possible, like pulling faces when Wendy tells the to go to sleep or getting really giddy when Peter (who they believe to be their father) walks into the house.  After this we let Wendy and Peter practice their song 'Why' before we practiced The Brave Girls getting captured by The Pirates whilst The Lost Boys hide. Tuesday 21th of November Today we focused on what costumes each of the ensemble cast could wear (Lost Boys, Pirates and Brave Girls).  For The Lost Boys we decided to use old and tattered clothes that don't pair with each other.  I also decided to get long furry leg w...

Week Commencing 13th of November

Monday 13th of November Today was the day we found out which role we got in Peter Pan, however before we did, we played some games of splat to calm us down as everyone was excited to find out which characters they would be.  During the games, Kelly would take out different people and tell them their roles so people would still be unsure who they would be as she called people in in no particular order.  When Kelly called me over she told me how she thought I worked well in groups and I was good as a Lost Boy in the scene I did on Thursday, because of this, she decided to give me the role of Nibs, The Lost Boy.   Tuesday 14th of November Since we had Tom today, we sung through the whole script with each character singing in for their part so we could all learn which songs were for which character and how well the duet singers work with each other.  I learnt my solo lines in "We're Going Home" however was still trying to fully learn the lines in both of The Lost Bo...

Week Commencing 6th of November

Monday 6th of November Today we all did our auditions for the character we wished for in Peter Pan.  I chose to audition for John, the middle child of the Darling family who gets taken to Neverland by Peter.  I chose this character as I felt he was a good choice because he would be a good starting point as whilst being on stage quite a lot, he didn't have lots of lines, so was a character to start my acting journey on.  Another reason was I felt like I could quite easily become that character, by slightly changing my accent to seem  more posh and acting more childlike, since he is only 10.  For my audition piece, I acted out the scene where Wendy woke him up so Peter could teach him to fly.  Before anyone did their audition though we all did a few games of Splat so we were all calmed down and were then given a timetable for each auditions.  Since my audition was later in the day after the Michaels did their auditions it gave me time to enhance m...
