 Monday 15th of April

Today we did auditions, read blog titled One Flew Over Audition and Preparation.


Tuesday 16th of April

Today we all sat in a circle and did readthroughs of the first 30 pages of both Radium Girls and One Flew Over so we could form opinions on both scripts in case we hadn't read it before.  People who wanted certain roles could walk into the circle and read in for that character so Kelly could see who fits certain characters the best.  After reading both of the start of each scripts I definitely preferred One Flew Over as I found the story more compelling.


Wednesday 17th of April

Since we were going to perform Shout next week, today we only did run throughs of Shout so we could keep it fresh in our heads, as well as improve certain scenes using the notes the lady from Connections gave us.  During this we took into consideration how we would use the backstage space since it would be a lot smaller compared to the space we had during the home performance.


Thursday 18th of April

Today we got into small groups to perform scenes from One Flew Over or Radium Girls to perform in front of Kelly to show our skills and our reasons for wanting to go for specific characters,  I worked with Paige and Oliver as Nurse Ratched and McMurphy where as I played Billy.  In this group we performed Billy's breakdown after being caught sleeping with Candy and begs Ratched not to tell his mother.  I chose to do this scene as it helped me try to practice using a stutter, as well as showing him in a distressing moment.  After performing this scene, I worked with Sienna and Jess for their Radium Girls scene, where Grace is confronting the head of the Radium corporation.

Week commencing 14th of October

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Globe Show Week and Evaluation

  Monday 21st of October Today was our first day at The Globe, one day before our first show.  To begin with, we warmed up by playing a few games like Splat so we were energised.  Since the first Tuesday show was the other cast, I was going to be an Aide in the One Flew Over segment of the tour, as the more people occupying the area in that scene, the more realistic it would be.  However, because my show is on the Wednesday, I still need to keep on top of my lines for The Sceptic so this morning Me, Connor and Adam focused on running through our lines together so we knew we had them fully learnt, since now we were in the venue some parts of the tour had been swapped around.  After lunch, me and the other people in the OFO section went through what we would be doing during Nurse Ratchet's section, like all turning to look at the audience at the same time during parts of her speech.   Tuesday 22nd of October This was the day of the first show so we immed...

Week Commencing 7th of October

Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.
