Week Commencing 5th of February

Monday 5th of February

Today we once again went through the beginning of Shout and worked our way to the careers advisor scene to go through book passing again. After this Abbie played three different songs for us to listen and dance to so we could feel the different rhythms of each song and let loose, truly feeling comfortable with everyone in the class.  As well as this we played the imaginary tug of war again for half an hour as it helped us with our reactions as we had to move forward and back in response to the opposing teams actions.


Tuesday and Wednesday 6th and 7th of February

For these days we only did rehearsals for Alan's play Snowdrop and focused on just the ensembles scenes.  The first scene was set at a train station and I was in a family that would get split up going on the train.  We then got on the train where we would gently sway from side to side to show the movement of the train.  After we get off the train, we wait in the line for soup and then go to sit down to eat it together as a family.  Once the scene ended, the stage faded to blackout where it would cut to a homeless shelter and everyone would be asleep on the floor, and Alan would meet another Ukrainian.


Thursday 8th of February

Today we were at the arc for a tech run through for Alans play at the Arc and did multiple run throughs.  We made sure the tech and the performance was perfect for tomorrow. 


Friday 9th of February

Today we performed Alan's play Snowdrop at the Arc, which we had been practicing for over the past few weeks.  During the performance, I made sure to stay in character the whole way through to not break the audiences immersion.

  Monday 11th of September. This was my first full day at college with both years in the theatre. Since it was only our first day we only did a few small activities one of which was a word association game.  We did this as it helped us think quickly under intense situations, which we will need for our performance in The Globe.  After this we did a whole group freeze frame of a pirate ship to test our ability to stay in character.  As well as this we all got into groups and wrote down our rules and expectations of the course.  Finally, at the end of the day we all wrote down our skills that could come in handy for our different shows. Unit 12: The Lovely Bones Show Evaluation

This show marks the end of my journey of my second year at Stockton Riverside College, and I believe that it really has shown how much I have grown as an actor over my two years at this college, with Mr Harvey being my most challenging role I've taken on.  Every role I have performed at this college has given me a unique opportunity, stretching me in all sorts of different ways, and ending on such a interesting character truly encapsulates my journey.  During the rehearsal process, I spent it trying to get into the headspace of Mr Harvey, as obviously he is a character I share no similarities with, so the research I did for this character really helped me bring him to life.   For this performance, I had a few goals I wanted to achieve by the end of it, the main one being to successfully portray the pure remorseless and sadistic nature of Mr Harvey, really creeping out the audience with how I acted him out.  For this I really put thought into every action I did o...

Dear Evan Hansen Duologue Project

For part of Unit 11, we had to focus on doing a duologue, which was chosen from the musical "Dear Evan Hansen".  Me and Layla chose to be partners as the scene depicted Evan and his mother during an "argument". Part 1: In this scene, Evan is confronted by his mother for always sneaking out under the excuse of him staying at his friends, however he fires back during the argument, believing she doesn't spend enough time with him.  This takes place in their living room after Evans lies were revealed to Heidi, his mother, showing moments of anger between the mother and son.  Heidi intends to get Evan to explain why he snuck out to see another family, and is hurt by his actions and tries to convey that to him, however, Evan doesn't want to hear what his mothers saying, so eventually lashes out and purposely says things he knows will hurt her.  This is a very emotional scene as Heidi is very clear on her opinions about the situation, where as it seems Evan struggl...
