Week Commencing 29th of January

Monday 29th of January Today we did a new game where we were assigned a number and when our number got shouted we had to say someone else's number, however if you hesitated you were out.  We played this game because it improved concentration as you had to remember what numbers were still in he circle as well as your own or you'd lose.  We also made ourselves sock puppets to make the snake scene with the therapist more comedic so once we made the sock puppets we split into 2 groups to do our own interpretation of the snake scene.  During this though we also did auditions for Sophia and Elliott's production of Stuff, where I auditioned for Matt, with a scene with AJ, who he has a crush on. Tuesday 30th of  January  Today we did connections and mainly focused on the scene where Dana is being asked how she will be interviewed for Oxford.  For this scene we had all the other characters meet up in the background and silently discuss universities with each ...

Week Commencing 22nd of January

Monday 22nd of January Today we did played some games whilst Kelly and Abby did callbacks for Shout.  One of the games we played helped us work on our teamwork skills and working quickly under pressure as in teams of two you have to get in different positions.  In the game, everyone walks in random directions away from there partner, until the game runner yells either; Backpack, Row your boat, Chicken hut or Cradle.  Then everyone would try to find their partner and get in the position with them, the slowest team getting removed.  After this, we got into groups of 5 and made a scene that was titled "When everything changed".  This title was chosen as it was very broad so anything could happen. Tuesday 23rd of January Today we had Tom for the lesson where we once again spoke about the two practitioners we had learnt about in the two previous lessons.  We got into groups of three to research practitioners of our own so we can do our own presentation of...

Week Commencing 15th of January

Monday 15th of January Today we all got into groups for which character we want to audition for in connections and I chose to go for Tristan.  Once we got into those groups we went around the circle and explained why we have chosen to go for that character and how we would perform them.  We also chose which scene we would use to audition with and also if we needed to audition with another person.  After this everyone who was doing Alan's play, Snowdrop, ran through scenes that required an ensemble, such as when he was at a train station, or first arrived in London. Tuesday 16th of January  Today since it was only a 1st year lesson, we learnt about a man named Brecht who wrote a large play about what was happening in different peoples lives during World War II.  He was a naturalistic playwright who wanted to use his plays to educate people and not as comedic so the audience could see themselves as the people on stage.  During this lesson we all got in...
