Week Commencing 27th of November

 Monday 27th of November

This was our first day outside of college and we were in a building called Bobby Dazzlers Academy.  Since it was our first day there we were very energetic, so played ninja and splat to calm down before we practiced the scene of The Lost Boys shooting Wendy and then building her a house, where we choreographed and performed the second section of the house song.  After this we brainstormed different ideas on how to get Peter and The Darlings to fly when Kelly came up with the idea for 6 people to lift the characters into the air and walk them around the stage, which looked amazing.


Tuesday 28th of November

For the first half of today we focused on doing a full run through of the script whilst sat down with the person reading in for the main parts alternating between the 3 casts.  While doing this, we sung every song that came up, and tried to avoid using the script when we could.  Afterward, we practiced flying with the all the characters who flew from each cast so we could know if it was possible with everyone, which it luckily was.


Wednesday 29th of November

Today we split of into our different ensemble groups (Lost Boys, Brave Girls and The Pirates) to do our different scenes, The Pirates doing Rich Damp Cake, The Brave Girls rehearsing Braves To War and as The Lost Boys we ran through the scene of Wendy getting shot.  We did this with all three of the casts and polished it so it ran smoothly.  Then we collaborated with The Pirates for the scene where we get scared off by them when the audience is first shown Neverland.


Thursday 30th of November

Since it was the last day of the week, we did a full run through, songs and all, of a cast chosen at random, which was three.  Before we did that though we decided to polish off We're Going Home, as it was the song we went through the least and needed the final minute of it choreographed.  Once we had choreographed it completely, we all started running through cast three without any issue, and got through half of it before the end of the day.


Monday 4th of December

As it was our final week in Bobby Dazzlers, we finished our cast three run through and started making a few props that we couldn't buy such as the mushroom or the rolled up shadow.  We then started another run through of cast one as they were the very first performing cast so they needed to get the most practice.

Tuesday 5th of December

For today we completed the cast one run through and afterward The Lost Boys practiced the dance for we're going home and perfected it.  Aswell as this we cello taped Wendy's house together so it could be moved onto the stage in pieces and more efficiently.  Then we finally got started on the cast two run through as since it was performed on the final night we had the most time to practice it.


Wednesday 6th of December

Once we finished the run through of cast 2 in the morning, we moved on to finishing the choreographing The Brave Girls abduction so it wran smoothly on stage as people were worried about that part.  For this scene in the beginning we had one Brave Girls run on only to get corned then knocked out by Starkey and dragged off stage, then two more would run across the stage followed by 3 pirates.  After that the remaining Brave Girls would run onto the stage and form a huddle whilst all the pirates would create a circle around them and lead them off stage.


Thursday 7th of December

All of today we spent working out the final fight scene between The Lost Boys and The Pirates to get it perfect.  Firstly we made a list of what weapons each Lost Boy would be using to fight their Pirate, as The Pirates would all have swords.  After this each Pirate was allocated a Lost Boy (or two) to fight with so everyone had a person to fight.  Once everyone had a partner everyone choreographed how their fight scene would go but they all had to end the same way, with the pirate being knocked over board.  By the time we had finished it was the end of the day and we were all confident with that scene and we were all ready to move into The ARC ready for show week.

Week commencing 14th of October

  Monday 14th of October This morning we played a new game called G'day Shiela, which was a memory game which made us remember who we were close to.  We played this game to improve our skills at remembering multiple things at once, as we had to speak in an accent, and the names of the two people to our right.  The rest of the day we put our full attention on Ghostlight Tours, with me, Connor and Adam going off to rehearse in the Black Box room ourselves, where we focussed completely on the first scene as it helped us get into character and it was the hardest part to learn, due to the rest of our dialogue mostly being short speeches before each section.  For now I just need to focus on getting of script for the first few pages as the show is actually quite close. Globe Show Week and Evaluation

  Monday 21st of October Today was our first day at The Globe, one day before our first show.  To begin with, we warmed up by playing a few games like Splat so we were energised.  Since the first Tuesday show was the other cast, I was going to be an Aide in the One Flew Over segment of the tour, as the more people occupying the area in that scene, the more realistic it would be.  However, because my show is on the Wednesday, I still need to keep on top of my lines for The Sceptic so this morning Me, Connor and Adam focused on running through our lines together so we knew we had them fully learnt, since now we were in the venue some parts of the tour had been swapped around.  After lunch, me and the other people in the OFO section went through what we would be doing during Nurse Ratchet's section, like all turning to look at the audience at the same time during parts of her speech.   Tuesday 22nd of October This was the day of the first show so we immed...

Week Commencing 7th of October

Monday 7th of October Today in the morning we were still practicing for another Ghost Light audition as the tour guides hadn't been casted still.  Everyone who wanted to be a tour guide went to the black box room to develop the character they would like to play.  I sat and discussed my ideas for the theatre with both Faith and Connor, where we learnt how we all saw the character in a similar way.  After we spent time making notes, we got into the groups of 3 of the Sceptic, Theatre Reviewer and Mystic, where we practiced the audition piece, really getting into character, and even performing it in front of a few of our peers.  Once we were confident, we went to the dance studio to show it to Kelly, making sure to do it the best we'd done yet, as she was still unsure on who she wanted for the tour guides.
