Performance Week At The Globe

Monday 23rd October Today we had our first day at The Globe so we could go through the show before we perform it tomorrow.  To begin with we played a few games of Splat so we could get all our energy back before our run through,  We had a full tech run to help us prepare and polish our scenes.  Once we did our Guy Fawkes scenes and the tour guides went to Titanic, Kelly gave us some feedback to help improve our scene such as raising our voice so we can be heard better.  After we received our feedback we went into the hallway so we could then go into the plague scene as an extra who would walk around whilst the victims gave their monologues. Halfway through the scene all the extras went into the bar so the audience could walk across the stage past the Jack The Ripper victims.  When the tour guides took the audience to The Radium Girls we all gathered round the front of the stage for the execution and all started cheering whilst we waited for the tour guide...

UAL Assignment 1

Candidate Declaration - I confirm that the attached portfolio is all my own work and does not include any work completed by anyone other than myself.  Task One A) 1.  One warmup we do in college is called "What are you doing?".  In this game you form a circle and one person goes inside the circle and does an action whilst everyone watches.  Whilst the person in the middle is doing their action someone else can walk in and ask "What are you doing?".  The person in the middle then comes up with a random scenario for the person who just came in.  This means that each time the actions will be random so when you go into the middle you don't know what to expect.  We play this game as it helps us think on the spot of what action to give the other person.  Aswell as this, it improves our improvisation skills because we don't know how long it will be until someone else comes into the circle. 2.  Another warmup we play is Splat.  The aim of...

Week Before Performance At The Globe

Monday 16th of October Today we played a game where we had to stand up and move at the same time.  This was to work on our communication skills without actually speaking.  We wanted to improve this skill as for our performance at The Globe we had to move toward the audience without saying anything to scare them.  It took us a few tries to get it right but after some attempts we finally perfected it, however we then how to repeat the task but slowing down and speeding up at random times without making any noise.  Then we were told to get into partners were we had to keep saying the same the to them but in a different tone of voice to see how many different ways we could say the same thing.  After this we brought our characters from our lonely heart column characters to life by having us pretend we were at a bar for a meetup.  To flesh out our character more we showed everyone a photo of ourselves and then got into groups to do a multiple choice quiz....
