Week Commencing 16th of September

Monday 16th of September Today, we focussed on using our imagination on the fly as a group to see how creative we are.  We were put into groups and given one chair by Kelly, who then gave us 3 minutes to imagine the chair as 40 different things, such as a bomb, shield or pencil, so she could see how quickly we can think up of things on the spot.  Afterward, we got into pairs of 2 where we got given a random tongue twister, with me and my partner being given "She sells seashells on the seashore".  This was to help work on our diction for when we perform on stage, as the audience need to understand what we are saying. Tuesday 17th of September Today we had quite a short lesson where we focussed on working on duologues in pairs.  To begin with, Kelly had us walk around the room and find a partner who we have never really worked with on the course.  This was so we didn't choose to just work with our friends and we may pair up with someone who could work reall...

First Official Week. Week Commencing 9th of September

Monday 9th of September Today, I was excited to start Year 2 of the course. It was nice to meet and introduce ourselves to the first years.   When I think about all I learnt last year, I am excited to learn even more this year and grow as an actor.   Tuesday 10th to Thursday 12th of  September The focus of this week was on our first project of this year, which is The Globes Ghostlight Tour.  To begin with. we all brainstormed famous stage villains that we could portray during the tour.  These included; Sweeney Todd, Fagin from Oliver Twist, Orin Scrivello from Little Shop of Horrors and Jacob Marley from a Christmas Carol.  Once we had our characters, we all wrote about our ideas for how we could include them in the tour and how to make them scary.  We talked about our upcoming trip to York Dungeon, where actors attempt to scare the audience, as this should give us some good ideas that we can use ourselves.
